The website for Lincoln Labs also says this A major part of our Surface Surveillance Program involves using advanced signal processing and adaptive-array techniques for locating communications emitters in high-interference environments. We’re also investigating how advanced processing techniques can maintain surveillance radar performance in hostile electronic environments. A second major emphasis is on Tactical Air Defense which includes a broad range of activities in the detection, location, identification, and engagement of air vehicles. We combine the modeling results of phenomenological investigations and testing insights from air vehicle measurements into system performance predictions. Our suite of state-of-the-art instrumentation sensors includes two business-sized jet aircraft with instrumented radar and infrared sensors and electronic countermeasure systems.
The Lincoln Labs report for 2001-2002 is finally on the web at Annual Report 2002 from MIT included in here is this Airborne Seeker Test Bed The Airborne Seeker Test Bed, in a Gulfstream II aircraft, has participated this year in two major test campaigns and infrastructure upgrades. One of the test campaigns was conducted in Nevada to evaluate the effectiveness of electronic countermeasures against a modern surface-to-air missile system and to measure bistatic radar cross sections. The second test utilized the seeker test bed's IR focal-plane arrays and IR seekers to test flare countermeasures.

One, a flight direct to "FIDOE" was refused due a UAV in the area. The other interesting thing is a warning of "simulcast"ing. Not sure what that means unless it refers to simultaneous UHF and VHF
In order to see N105TB on the radar inbound to Groom on 12-Jan-2004 and outbound 23-Jan-2004 look at Las vegas radar inbound set up 12-Jan02994 at 1301 ZQX1416 is the pseudonym for N105TB PUB-DRA G2 it's at FL240 just N of LAS Originally flight planned PUB-LAS it turns up on this Las vegas noise monitoring site as destination DRA (Desert Rock). AS you can see, it disappears from the screen northwest of Indian Springs at FL150 at 1308L. You need to have the range set to 95 miles to see it all the way. then set up 23-Jan-2004 at 1145 ZQX1427 TNX-SPI G2 is N105TB just N of LAS at FL370 it originally filed a flight plan TKM to SPI

A trip to Tikaboo Peak on Monday 7-Apr-2003 Our previous visit was in late April 2001 and on that occasion Tikaboo Peak had some snow which made the climb a little tricky in places. On that occasion we arrived at Tikaboo base camp at around 0630 and there was some noise from what my colleague thought to be a MiG-29 overhead. The video footage on that occasion was inconclusive and by the time we reached the summit, it had landed. This year we weren't too hopeful of seeing anything as it was earlier in April, there was a war on and we didn't leave Vegas until 0530 which meant that we could be amused/worried by Howard Stern on the radio all the way up to the turning off Highway 93. The easiest route into Tikaboo from civilisation is from a turning just to the north of the entrance to the Pahranagat Wildlife Refuge. It's a dirt track across Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land which is public land and the equivalent (I guess) of National Trust land here in the UK.
This year's trip to Tikaboo Peak the 7900ft mountain in Nevada from where one can see Groom Lake AFB in clarity - albeit at range 26nm - was most entertaining. Initially we thought that we had stumbled across a 'families day' as there was constant action for 4 hours featuring a Su-27 and MiG-29. Both Russians had a F-16 as a playmate and the MiG-29 was flying in formation with a Gulfstream II. The Gulf II N105TB is part of the Airborne Seeker Test Bed (ASTB) program - 5TB being a stylised STB - and based at Bedford-Hanscom Field with DoD/MIT Lincoln Labs. Lincoln Labs allegedly have a hangar for this G2 at the northern end of Groom Lake; this seems to be likely as during April it seemed to spend the week at Groom while returning home to BED for weekends, holidays, birthdays etc. N105TB spent much of April 2003 in Nevada it seems. On returning to/from BED at weekends it stops at SPI (Springfield, IL) much of the time although PUB (Pueblo, CO) has also been o
